About Georgia Dimari

Affiliation: Dr. Georgia Dimari is Post-Doctoral Researcher at the Center for Political Research and Documentation (KEPET) of the Department of Political Science University of Crete, Rethymnon. She explores the Refugee - Migration Crisis and the subsequent transformation of the Greek Migration Policy.

Education: Dr. Georgia Dimari holds a PhD from the Department of Political Science of the School of Social Sciences of the University of Crete. the title of her doctoral thesis is: "The Securitization of Migration in Greece, 2011 - 2019: Theory and Practice of Desecuritization as a Process for the Integration of Migrants in the Greek Society". Dr. Dimari holds a Master degree in American Studies from the University of Turin, Italy, and a Bachelor degree in International and European Studies from the University of Piraeus in Athens, Greece.

Research fields: critical security studies, securitization of migration, desecuritization and migration policy.
