Scope of the EQPAM Online Journal
The European Quarterly of Political Attitudes and Mentalities (EQPAM) is an online professional journal of political analysis in English language. It is aimed at covering several aspects of the political analysis domain – from the classical statistical-based and game theory’s based analysis to the artificial society-based modeling, simulation and analysis of political processes, context, evolution and change. It is meant to bring forward some of the major issues of Eastern and South-Eastern European politics such as political attitudes, mentalities, and cultures which could make us better understand Europe’s past, present and future.
Main Research Areas and Issues
The European Quarterly of Political Attitudes and Mentalities (EQPAM) provides professional and academic political scientists and students all over the world with powerful analysis and prediction instruments, models and approaches. EQPAM welcomes original contributions in English in political methodology, European studies, post-communist studies, political sociology, political psychology, international relations and geopolitics, political and social conflict, ethnical conflict, social change, state. It also welcomes original contributions in the fields of (i) modeling, (ii) experimental and (iii) simulation-based political methodology.
All submissions to the EQPAM are initially reviewed by the Editor and members of the Editorial Team with expertise in the area of the submitted manuscript. This stage is aimed at rejecting from the very beginning the manuscripts which do not comply with the aspects of the Editorial Policy. If the manuscript has not been rejected in this early stage, then it will be sent out for peer-review process, which consists in sending the manuscript to two independent Reviewers who have high expertise in the manuscript’s field of research and do not know the identity of the Author(s). The Authors do not know and do not get any information about the identity of the Reviewers. Reviewers may ask the Author(s) to provide more theoretical and/or experimental arguments, data or any other proof in supporting their results. The Authors may be asked to change parts of their papers in order to achieve high standards in their presentations. Previously to publication, the Authors of accepted manuscripts have to sign a Publication Agreement.
Authors should comply with the high standards with respect to publication ethics as set out by the Open Access and Common Creative ethic codes. Plagiarism, duplicate publication of the authors’ own work in whole or in part without proper citation, falsification of data, misuse of data sources and data collections are unacceptable practices and they are forbidden by the EQPAM's ethical principles.
Originality of Manuscripts
Submitted manuscripts must present original research work. Submitted manuscripts cannot be published in whole or in part in other publications, nor can they be under consideration elsewhere. Submitted manuscripts are verified for originality using anti-plagiarism software.
Manuscripts will be submitted as MS WORD files. Authors will upload a single .doc/.docx file containing the complete text of the paper and eventually mathematical formulas and symbols, indicating also the positions of the images, tables, graphs, etc. The associated data and materials will be sent in separate files: images will be sent as JPEG files; tables, graphical representations and other data will be sent as .docx files. The Manuscripts will include the title of the paper, the full contact address of the Corresponding Author and affiliation(s) of the (co-)author(s), an abstract of max. 300 words, a max. number of keywords (5), text sections’ and subsections’ appropriate numbering, eventually mathematical formulas and figures, tables and charts. The manuscripts should not exceed 25 (A4) pages. The EQPAM follows Chicago style for text, formulas, tables and figures. Communicating with the Editorial Board of EQPAM
The submitted manuscript must specify the name and the e-mail address of the Contact Author. The Contact Author will receive the correspondence from the EQPAM concerning the submitted paper, the evaluation stage and result(s) and the paper acceptance. The Contact Author must immediately inform the EQPAM Editorial Board about any changes concerning the contact address.
In order to have their article(s) published in EQPAM, the Authors who have their articles accepted for publication in EQPAM agree with the following terms:
1. Each Author retains the copyright for his/hers article.
2. Prior to the publication of his/hers accepted article in EQPAM, the Author signs a Publication Agreement in which he/she grants the EQPAM the right of first publication with the article simultaneously licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution License that allows the others to share the work described in the article with the explicit acknowledgement of the authorship and of the initial publication of the article in EQPAM.
3. Authors have the permission to include links (URLs) to their article(s) in any institutional electronic repository with the acknowledgement of the initial publication of the article in EQPAM.
4. Authors have the permission to post earlier drafts of their article(s) either on institutional electronic repositories or institutional and/or personal websites prior to or during the submission process and therefore have the opportunity to get constructive feedback for their work and earlier citations of their published work (see The Effect of Open Access).

Conflicts of Interest
Authors are expected to declare any potential or actual financial interest or situation which might be associated with the possibility or existence of specific bias in the research experimental or field work, in the interpretation of data collections and results or in the conclusions reported in their work. Authors can be asked to provide statements concerning their conflict of interest situations and assume full responsibility of further acknowledgement of such conflict of interest situations.
The opinions expressed in the The European Quarterly of Political Attitudes and Mentalities (EQPAM) are those of the authors and do not reflect those of the Editors, of the Editorial Board, of the EPAM or of the University of Bucharest.
The names, addresses and personal information provided to the EQPAM’s website will be used exclusively for the declared purposes of EQPAM and it will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other party.
Open Access Policy
Publication with EQPAM as well as access to EQPAM issues are free of charge. The principle of providing free, direct access to the contents of the European Quarterly of Political Attitudes and Mentalities, EQPAM, is based on the idea that sharing knowledge could made us all share more values and more responsibility to the human life and mind for now and for the future.

European Quarterly of Political Attitudes and Mentalities has a waiver policy for Eastern European country authors. Eastern European authors are especially encouraged to publish with EQPAM, to edit country issues, and to promote their research projects. The research areas are those indicated in the EQPAM scientific domains and general goals.
